Samajwadi Pension Yojana 

The Uttar Pradesh government launched the Samajwadi Pension Yojana to provide financial assistance to economically weaker families and marginalized sections, including Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. This Pension allows a monthly allowance for the weaker sections and helps in their upliftments. It was introduced by the Government of Uttar Pradesh on February 28th, 2014 as an initiative designed to provide financial support to roughly 40 lakh rural residents. 

Peculiarities of Samajwadi Pension Yojana 

The scheme is open to any family below poverty line, but should be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

The primary beneficiary should have a bank account with any nationalized bank. 

The plan offers a monthly pension of Rs 500, with an increasing amount of Rs 50 every subsequent year. 

The families are selected at Gram panchayat level. 

Application process – Online

The Samajwadi pension yojana form can be applied on the Uttar Pradesh Samajwadi Pension scheme’s official website which is http://sspy-up.gov.in/.

Log in to the website http://sspy-up.gov.in first.

Click on download in Samajwadi Pension Scheme application form and save it.  

Then complete the online application form and upload all needed papers. 

After filling out the form with all of the needed information, you may save it and submit it to the website to create your Samajwadi Pension Yojana account.

Application Process – Offline 

For those unable to apply online, an offline process was also available:

Visit the nearest Gram Panchayat office/Block Development Office (BDO)/Municipal Corporation Office.

Obtain the Samajwadi Pension Yojana Form.

Fill in the required details.

Attach necessary documents.

Submit the form at the designated office.

Components of Samajwadi Pension Yojana

  1. Monthly Pension – Eligible families received a monthly pension to support their livelihood.
  2. Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) – Pension amounts were credited directly to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
  3. Women Beneficiaries – The scheme aimed to benefit women as the pension was transferred to the female head of the family.
  4. Increment in Pension – The pension amount was set to increase by ₹50 every year, provided the family met specific criteria.
  5. Education and Health Monitoring – To continue receiving benefits, families had to ensure their children were attending school and getting vaccinated.
  6. Transparency and Digitization – The scheme adopted an online application process to ensure transparency and minimize fraud.

The government periodically released the Samajwadi Pension List, which contained the names of approved beneficiaries. To check the list:

Visit the official UP government website.

Click on the ‘Beneficiary List’ section.

Enter the required details (district, block, gram panchayat, etc.).

View and download the list.
